Standings guide

How to Read the 2026 F1 Driver Standings

Grand Prix points

At full points, the top 10 score 25, 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 and 1. Shortened races can use reduced scales.

Sprint points count too

The top eight in a completed Sprint score from 8 points for P1 down to 1 point for P8.

What the gaps mean

Gap ahead compares a driver with the next position. Gap leader measures the full deficit to the championship leader.

Drivers tied on points

Countback separates them: most race wins, then most second places, third places and so on. Qualifying results are the final tie-breaker.
