The AMR26 is the first Aston Martin designed under Adrian Newey's technical leadership and the first powered by Honda's RA626H. With both chassis and power-unit rules changing together, fans should track development and reliability as closely as outright pace; each completed lap matters in a new works partnership.
Fernando Alonso offers a two-time champion's reference for balance and race craft, while Lance Stroll brings long continuity with the Silverstone organisation. Their results help separate a difficult circuit weekend from broader limitations in the car, power unit or reliability.
The current team grew from the Silverstone operation previously known as Jordan, Force India and Racing Point before taking the Aston Martin name in 2021. A new campus, Honda partnership and Newey-led car make 2026 the clearest expression yet of its plan to become a title contender.
