What to Know About the Dutch Grand Prix 2026
Turn 14 builds the launch; Tarzan is where the attack arrives
The banked Arie Luyendijk corner lets drivers carry speed onto the main straight, but the following move still depends on braking late into Tarzan without losing the narrow racing line. Earlier, the banked Hugenholtz corner offers more than one line before the lap threads through fast dune-side direction changes.

One practice session leaves traffic and coastal wind unsolved
Zandvoort's first Sprint gives teams only FP1 before competitive running. That hour must cover tyre behaviour, ride over the banking and the balance changes caused by wind from the North Sea. A narrow circuit also makes an unobstructed qualifying lap precious and raises the cost of starting in traffic.
- Track position can be worth more than a small tyre advantage when the field forms a train.
- Watch for wind direction and sand on the surface even when there is no rain.
Rail and walking fit Zandvoort better than a race-day car
The seaside town is roughly 30 minutes by train from Amsterdam and the station is within walking distance of the circuit. Race crowds make both the town route and return platforms busy, so leave time after the final session rather than planning an immediate connection. The farewell edition adds demand and ceremony beyond the five F1 sessions.
- Check the entrance printed on the ticket before joining the crowd walking from the station.
- Bring a light windproof layer; the beachside forecast can feel cooler in exposed seats.
